With more than 150 years of company history, C. Jul. Herbertz can look back on a long tradition in the manufacture and sale of knives and blades. In 1868, Carl Julius Herbertz founded the company in Solingen, a basin of knife makers, which now enjoys an excellent reputation far beyond the borders of Germany. The company has been run as a family business for five generations. Long-time owner Ulrich Hartkopf's great-grandfather was a blade grinder, his great-great-grandfather was a knife manufacturer, other ancestors up to his grandfather and father were involved in the knife trade. However, the foundations for today's successful company were laid in particular by his father, Klaus Hartkopf. Ulrich Hartkopf consistently developed the company C. Jul. Herbertz for more than 25 years and was able to rely on the high level of experience and know-how of the employees (many employees have been working for the company for more than 20 years). In line with the motto: "There is nothing that cannot be improved", Herbertz continues to pay particular attention to quality and service.
