The shape of the blade allows you to control the cut object, keeps it on the curved sharpened edge, preventing the object from slipping off the end of the blade.
Blade - solid with Hawkbill profile made of well sharpening and easy to sharpen stainless steel 8Cr13MoV (equivalent to Japanese AUS-8 steel). The Plain blade has a Hollow grind for effective cutting with the entire cutting surface as well as an ultra thin tip. Comet-shaped cut-out (Spyderco patent) for quick opening of the blade. Back-Lock with safety against accidental release of the lock during firm grip, cut-out in the lock designed by David Boye.
