5Cr15MoV is a chrome martensitic steel, often used in mass production of knives and tools. Its nominal chemical composition includes about 0.50-0.60% carbon (C) and 14.5-15.0% chromium (Cr), with additions of molybdenum (Mo) and vanadium (V) in smaller amounts. 5Cr15MoV is valued for its ease of sharpening and relatively good strength.
