Blade is made of 420 stainless steel, corrosion-resistant and easy to sharpen in field conditions, and its stonewashed finish effectively masks traces of use. The ABS rubber-coated Handle provides a stable, non-slip grip even when working in wet environments. This is a tool that will work well both in field equipment and as an all-purpose work knife.
420 - martensitic stainless steel rich in 0.15% carbon, containing min. 12% chromium, which offers high hardenability in the 54-56 HRC range as well as strength, toughness, machinability and excellent corrosion resistance. The high carbon content produces chromium carbide compounds for wear resistance and edge retention after hardening. Due to its high hardness, the steel is suitable for manufacturing cutting tools, knife blades and medical instruments.
